Fire destroys home in Nathalie area

A single story home in the Nathalie community was destroyed this morning by fire that officials believe may have spread from the kitchen.

The Liberty Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire at 1118 Beulah Road this morning 8:10. The house had flames and smoke coming out when firefighters arrived on the scene. The occupant of the home, Ralph Logan, got out in time to avoid injury.

Liberty was assisted by fire departments from North Halifax, Halifax, Triangle, Oak Level and Riceville Java fire. The home was a total loss.
