Miss Virginia 2014, Courtney Garrett of Pamplin, hams it up with Captain Jack (a.k.a. Steve Meadows) during an appearance Friday at Virginia Avenue Mall in Clarksville. The good-natured pageant queen traveled to town to help raise funds for the Lake Country SPCA building fund. Her visit coincided with Saturday’s SPCA Pirates Regatta, which went on as planned despite the wet weather.
