Grand jury indicts 16 suspects in variety of crimes

A Mecklenburg County grand jury handed down indictments against 16 individuals Monday, including eight on drug related charges.

Darius Montrelle Carter of South Hill was charged with one felony count for possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

Harold Thomas Bennet III of South Hill was charged with one felony count of possession with intent to distribute five pounds or less of marijuana.

Dontarius Jabaria Woods of Kenbridge was charged with one felony count of possession of cocaine and a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana.

Michael Kendall Kaser of South Hill was charged with one felony count for possession of oxycodone and one felony count for possession of morphine. He was also charged with two misdemeanors, driving under the influence and driving after forfeiture of his license.

Deshay Lamon Harris aka Dashay Lamon Harris of Buffalo Junction was charged with one felony count for possession of cocaine. He was also charged with a misdemeanor count of assault and battery of a family member.

Javis Devon Teal of South Hill was charged with one felony count of possession with intent to distribute less than five pounds of marijuana.

Thomas Wayne Lindsey of Clarksville was charged with one felony count of possession of heroin. He also has several other charges pending that were direct indicted in August and September, including three felony charges for entering a house to commit assault and battery, two for grand larceny and two for possession of stolen property with intent to sell.

Mike Henry Walters of Etowah, N.C. was charged with one felony count of possession with intent to distribute less than five pounds of marijuana and one felony count each for possession of methamphetamine and possession cocaine.

Megan Renee Challenor of Boydton was charged with one felony count of credit card fraud and one felony count of credit card theft.

Melissa Marie Evans of Henderson, N.C. was charged with four felony counts of grand larceny.

Danny Grey Baptist of Clarksville was charged with one felony count of grand larceny.

Gregory Scott Tuck of Nelson was charged with one felony count of grand larceny.

Kandie Marie Deal of South Hill and Boydton was charged with one felony count of grand larceny. She was also direct indicted on four felony counts for possession of stolen property with intent to sell, one felony count of grand larceny and one felony count of breaking and entering with intent to commit larceny.

Stephen M. Wilson of Chase City was charged with one felony count of grand larceny and one felony count of breaking and entering with intent to commit larceny.

Stanley Raynard Fleming of Henderson, N.C. was charged with one felony count of shoplifting from Walmart.

Gabrielle Linette Alexander of Skipwith was charged with one felony count of shoplifting from Family Dollar.

Indictments are not findings of guilt, but rather a determination that sufficient evidence exists to bring cases to trial.
