Halifax Count trustees tackle monthly agenda

The Halifax County School Board will meet tonight in closed session in the second floor meeting room of the Mary Bethune Complex at 6 p.m. to consider personnel adjustments.
The trustees’ public session begins at 7:30.
Under new business, trustees will consider an agreement with the Town of South Boston for the South Boston/Halifax County Early Learning Center. Members also will receive an update on health care insurance rates for the coming school year which become effective in October.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Merle Herndon is expected to present Virginia Department of Education Creating Excellence Awards.
Also, Emma Sims has asked to be allowed to address the board.
