Halifax County churches hit by thieves during Sunday services / November 14, 2019

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several larcenies at places of worship throughout the county.

On November 10, deputies responded to Seven Oaks Baptist Church on Bill Tuck Highway, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness on Love Shop Road and Piney Grove Baptist Church on Bethel Road for reports of larcenies from vehicles. Deputies discovered that during Sunday’s services, items were taken from vehicles in the parking lots. One vehicle was left unlocked and entry was gained into another two vehicles by breaking a glass out. Various items were taken from the vehicles.

The Halifax County Crime Line has offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and convictions of the subjects responsible for the recent larcenies. Sheriff Fred Clark ask that if anyone has any information about the larcenies or may have seen any type of suspicious activity to please call the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office at (434) 476-3339 or the Halifax County Crime Line at (434) 476-8445.
