Halifax County School Board meets tonight at Clays Mill

Members of the Halifax County School Board will meet tonight at Clays Mill Elementary School for their regular monthly session, one week earlier than usual since schools will be closed next week for spring break.

The meeting for the public will begin at 7:30 p.m. with trustees going into closed session to discuss personnel at the beginning of the 6 p.m. meeting.

New items of business are the approval of the upcoming year’s special education plan and the food service plan for the Cluster Springs Early Learning Center.

Recognized during the meeting will be Valdivia Marshall, winner of the Virginia State Leadership Award for federal education program.

Also up for recognition are administrators and Meadville Elementary School for its inclusion in the Virginia School Board Association’s “Showcases for Success.”
