Halifax County trustees seek early input on school needs / November 30, 2017

The Halifax County School Board will host a public input session on Monday to hear comments on school budget priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the first floor school board conference room in the Mary Bethune Complex. Citizens can address trustees about their concerns and how money can best be spent to educate local students.

Following the public hearing, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Lineburg will share his thoughts on the budget. The full board will begin work on developing the budget for the new fiscal year, which begins July 1.

The school board will submit its budget request in the spring to the board of supervisors, which controls the funding of the local portion of the budget.
