Halifax planners convene Wednesday

SoVaNow.com / June 24, 2013
The Town of Halifax Planning Commission will gather for its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday evening, June 26 in Halifax Town Hall at 7 p.m.

Planners have two requests for special use permits before them. The first is from Larry Elam for the operation of a mobile food unit, “Ollie’s Mobile Hotdog Cart” in the C-1 commercial zone district at 100 South Main Street.

The second special use permit application comes from Ronnie Duffey for the operation of a home based business in an R-1 residential district at 389 Lakeside Drive.

Planners are also expected to get an update on the Halifax Village Association’s Community Clock Project.

In unfinished business, the planners will receive updates on VDOT road improvements, the MBC wireless pilot project, the technology overlay zone and the expanded Enterprise Zone designation. They will also hear about the status of the demolition of the former Burlington property and receive an update on the Banister River Gateway Project.
