Halifax Town Council meets Tuesday

Virus cases accelerate in Halifax

Halifax Town Council hosts work session, regular meeting Tuesday / September 09, 2019
Members of Halifax Town Council will meet Tuesday for their monthly work session at 6:30 p.m. and regular monthly meeting to follow at 7 p.m.

The work session will touch on topics including the Halifax Downtown Streetscape Extension Project, expansion of the turning radius at the Mountain Road-Main Street intersection next to the War Memorial Park, and the Banister River Flotsam Flotilla clean-up day, scheduled on Sept. 21.

During the regular meeting, Council members will be asked to approve a special use permit for James Edmunds II to add a studio apartment and caterer’s kitchen behind the retail space at 60 South Main Street, in the storefront building he owns in downtown. The permit request is backed by the Halifax Town Planning Commission, which voted on the matter last month.

The work session and regular meeting will be held at Town Hall at 70 South Main Street.
