Halifax Town Council meets Tuesday

Members of Halifax Town Council will meet Tuesday night at Town Hall for their monthly committee work session and regular Council meeting.

The committee work session, which starts at 6:30 p.m., will preview the season opening of the Halifax Farmer’s Market on Saturday, July 18, and the work to renovate the farmers market site to serve as home for a new Italian restaurant that local restaurateur Viny Sarnataro is opening soon.

The work session also will feature presentations by the Finance, Business Development and Current Issues committees of Town Council.

The regular monthly Council meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m., with the presentation of fire and police department reports, a discussion of the distribution of CARES Act funding for the Town of Halifax, related to the coronavirus pandemic, and other business.

The meeting is open to the public.
