Halifax Town Council meets Tuesday night / September 13, 2021

Halifax Town Council will convene Tuesday night with a September meeting agenda that includes a budget update and a council opening to fill.

The monthly committee work session will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the full Council meeting at 7. Vice Mayor Gail Bosiger will preside in place of Mayor Dexter Gilliam, who is scheduled to be out of town for work-related reasons.

Council members will be asked to set an election to fill the vacant at-large seat that opened up with Mike Trent’s move out of town. Also, Council will be asked to set a public hearing on an amended FY 2021-22 budget, to reflect the distribution of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) pandemic federal relief funding.

The committee work session will feature reports by the Business Development, Finance and Current Issues Committees.

The meeting will be held at Halifax Town Hall and is open to the public with social distancing limits in place.
