Halifax Town Council returns Tuesday after September break / October 19, 2020
Halifax Town Council will gather Tuesday for the monthly committee work session starting at 6:30 p.m. and the regular October council meeting starting at 7 p.m.

Town Council is returning after a hiatus in September, when members took the month off. Council normally skips one of its summer meetings but did not do so this year due to pending business, taking the scheduled break in September instead.

On the agenda for the monthly work session are discussions of how to use CARES Act funding to the town, the progress of construction at the new Viny’s Italian Restaurant at the Farmers Market site, and other issues.

During the 7 p.m. regular session, Council members will discuss the terms of the Town’s agreement with the county on CARES funding, and vote on a request to grant Field Thomas a second term on the Halifax County Service Authority board.

The regular monthly meeting will also include a citizens comment period. The meeting will be held at Town Hall and is open to the public.
