Bryn Montgomery of South Hill made the cut as one of the final five contestants on the Food Network’s Kids Baking Championship with the latest airing of the cable TV show on Monday night. Bryn, the daughter of Vin and Ann Montgomery and a student at Brunswick Academy, started out among 11 contestants hoping to win the show’s $25,000 grand prize. She has been baking since she was about four or five and is a pro at age 11. Her recipes have kept her in the thick of the televised competition, which has been followed ardently by members of the community.
