Investigation continues into Thursday shooting / February 12, 2018
South Boston Police are investigating a shooting around midday Thursday, in the 600 block of Carrington Street.

Officers who were called to the scene at 12:35 p.m. found a 22-year-old male suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the leg. Police found the victim sitting on the side of the street. He was transported to the local emergency room for treatment.

The victim was walking with a companion when he told officers he heard a loud bang.

The incident is being investigated by Cpl. C. L. Carswell of the South Boston Police Department. The public is asked to share any information about the incident by calling the South Boston Police Department at 575-4273 or the Halifax County Crime Line at 476-8445.
