Jane Jones Food Pantry receives $2500 from Food Lion charitable foundation / July 13, 2020
The Jane Jones Food Pantry of Main Street United Methodist Church has received $2,500 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation just in time to help feed local neighbors. The Jane Jones Food Pantry will use the gift to purchase food items for the monthly distribution to families in Halifax County who face chronic hunger.

“The members of the Board and the volunteers who serve each month would like to express our appreciation for the $2,500 donation given to us from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation. The donation will help us feed more families in our community, “ stated David Lawson, Chairman of the Board, Jane Jones Food Pantry .

The Jane Jones Food Pantry distributes food on the third Wednesday of each month to families with chronic need in the South Boston/Halifax County area. Non-perishable canned and dried foods as well as milk, eggs, margarine, bread and meat are given to each family. Funding is solely from grants and individual donations. We work with Halifax Social Services to verify need and information.
