Jazz rain or shine at Occoneechee this Saturday, Sunday

The sixth annual Jazz by the Lake festival at Occoneeche State Park, U.S. 58 east of Clarksville, will run from 4:30 until dark on Saturday, May 15, and Sunday, May 16 rain or shine. If the weather looks threatening, park staff will put up tents.

The festival will open Saturday with the traditional New Orleans music of The Decatur Street Beat of Chapel Hill, N.C., and close Sunday evening with a jam session following the performance of the Oxford, N.C., R&B group the Universal Singers.

The event is free with park admission. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
