Kids spring into action to help feed other kids

South Boston News / March 26, 2020

A group of local parents and youths are doing their part to reduce the stress of the Coronavirus pandemic for at-risk families by delivering food to their children.

“We have delivered to students in Clover and rode the streets in South Boston looking for children who may be in need. The apartment complexes are where we made most of our donations,” said Wendy Hall.

Hall, along with Kimberly Gordon and her four children, have delivered 180 bags of groceries to families in need. Their Food Lion bags have been packed with Chef Boyardee mac-and-cheese, ramen noodles, Nabs, and soup.

The delivery team would like to thank Food Lion in Riverdale, Scotty Felton, Karen Smith, the care closets at HCMS and HCHS, and the staff of Fry, Jordan & Wilson for helping to make the deliveries possible.
