Man accused of threatening to set female victim on fire / August 13, 2018
A Scottsburg man has been charged with attempted first degree murder after allegedly spraying a woman with lighter fluid and threatening to set her on fire.

Kendall Scott Sydnor, 30, was arrested by Halifax County deputies after authorities responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in the 2000 block of Lee Syd Moore Road on Tuesday afternoon. Sydnor was arrested and charged with attempted murder and destruction of property. He is being held at the Halifax jail without bond.

According to Major T.R. Spencer, after arriving at the scene, deputies spoke with a female who apparently was assaulted by the suspect. Further investigation revealed that a fire had been started outside the residence by the male suspect, and that he had sprayed the woman with lighter fire. Witnesses also told deputies that Sydnor had wielded a machete and threatened the female victim.
