SoVaNow.com / November 21, 2012
An early Saturday morning accident left a 29 year old Halifax man hospitalized with serious injuries. Derrick R. Hudson was the driver of a 1993 Oldsmobile that veered off the left side of State Route 729, some two miles south of its intersection with Route 716, and struck a tree. The accident happened around 6:40 a.m.

Hudson was airlifted to the University of Virginia Hospital where he was reported by a family member to be in stable condition on Sunday.

The accident is under investigation by Virginia State Trooper K. R. Martin with charges pending.
