SoVaNow.com / February 05, 2014

Ribbon cutting ceremonies for the Chase City, Clarksville and La Crosse Elementary schools additions have been rescheduled as follows:

Feb.5 from 6-7 p.m., Chase City Elementary School, 5450 Highway 47, Chase City;

Feb. 6 from 6-7 p.m., La Crosse Elementary School, 1000 School Circle, La Crosse;

The renovations will move students out of aging, dilapidated trailers at each of the elementary schools, and into brick and mortar facilities connected to the main school buildings.

Funding for the projects, around $6.2 million, came from monies set aside by the county for school construction.

The public is invited to attend any or all of these ceremonies, tour the new additions and enjoy refreshments.
