Mecklenburg grand jury hands down indictments

A Mecklenburg County grand jury handed down indictments against a dozen individuals on July 15, including drug-related charges for five suspects and weapons-related charges for another five suspects.

Marquett Krishum Robinson of Emporia and Alberta was charged with one felony count of possession of a firearm while also in possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, one felony count of possession with intent to distribute or manufacture a Schedule I or II controlled substance, specifically cocaine, and one felony count for possession with intent to distribute between a half ounce and five pounds of marijuana.

Robinson was previously charged with two felony counts for possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I or II controlled substance, one felony count for possession with intent to distribute between a half ounce and five pounds of marijuana. These cases are still pending.

David Lee Williams Jr. of South Hill was charged with one felony count of possession of a firearm while also in possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, and one felony count of possession with intent to distribute or manufacture a Schedule I or II controlled substance.

Alicia Byne West of Chase City was charged with one felony count of possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, specifically heroin.

Callie Hall Elliott of Clarksville was charged with two felony counts for possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, specifically methamphetamine.

Tyrone Rondell Fisher of South Hill was charged with one felony count for possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I or II controlled substance.

Jonathan B. Walker of Chase City was charged with one felony count for possession of a weapon by a non-violent felon and one misdemeanor count for driving under the influence. In March, a capias warrant was issued for Walker’s arrest stemming from a probation violation of a 2016 offense for possession of a weapon, not a gun, by a convicted felon. That case remains pending.

Jeremy Antonie Fletcher of South Hill was charged with one felony count of armed burglary and one felony count for discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling.

Edward Marcellus Jones of Bullock, N.C. was charged with one felony count for possession of a weapon by a non-violent felon.

Christina Michelle Jones of Bracey was charged with one felony count of embezzlement.

Dennise Christine McCoy of Raeford, N.C. was charged with one felony count of strangulation resulting in bodily injury.

Michael David Chambers of Roxboro, N.C. was charged with one felony count of grand larceny.

Daijon Trave Wilson of South Hill was charged with one felony count of breaking and entering to commit assault and battery.

Indictments are not findings of guilt, but rather a determination that sufficient evidence exists to bring cases to trial.
