Still think the VIRGINIA Cantaloupe Festival should have served VIRGINIA grown cantaloupe to begin with.

As it was, we celebrated "furrin" grown melons, and the monies went to out-of-state interests, not Halifax County melon growers.

Not a lot of difference from when the County hired a Lynchburg sign company to create the wooden welcome signs at the county lines on major routes thru the County. There were local businesses who could have made those signs competitively.

So much for "Buy Local!" Pfft.
