A record crowd took advantage of near-perfect weather to soak in the Clarksville Lake Country Wine Festival Saturday on the bridge in downtown Clarksville. Attendance was up and the new vendors and bands “made for a fun day,” said local realtor and Chamber of Commerce member Karin Kuhn.

Butner, N.C. artist Mike Buzzell, posted the following message on social media, following Saturday’s festival. “I got good news and bad news, I won’t be showing a lot of my paintings at Mebane’s Dogwood Festival coming up in two weeks because of the good news — I sold a lot of them at a wine festival in Clarksville, this Saturday”

The event, which takes place each year on the second Saturday in April is put on by the Clarksville Lake Country Chamber of Commerce. This year, 16 Virginia wineries offered tastings. For beer lovers, the areas only craft brewery, Buggs Island Brewing, was selling four of their most popular brews. They were joined by artisans and specialty food purveyors.
