The South Hill Police Department and Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office have stepped up their efforts to find a Boydton man wanted for questioning in connection with a robbery and assault that took place in November.

The suspect is 36-year-old Skylar Seward. He is described as a 5’10” tall black male, weighing approximately 185 pounds.

South Hill Police Chief Stuart Bowen says Seward should be considered armed and dangerous.

According to police reports, South Hill officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Lombardy Street around 1:17 a.m. on November 4, 2017. Arriving at the scene, they found evidence of forced entry into a home. Inside was a victim suffering from facial injuries consistent with an assault.

The suspect fled the premises before police arrived, taking with him the victim’s cell phone. Officers believe the assailant was picked up by a nearby driver.

Warrants were obtained by South Hill Police against Seward for breaking and entering, assault, and robbery. Additional warrants were taken out by the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. So far, Seward has eluded capture.

If you have any information on Seward, please dial 911 or you may send anonymous tips to the South Hill Police Department by texting SHPDTIP + your tip to 847411 or you may download the app, Mecklenburg South Hill Tips. You may also call the department and speak with Detective Durham at 434-447-3104.

South Hill is also working with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office to find Donterius Francois Boyd. Police say he is “wanted for rape and has made no attempt to cooperate with police.”

Boyd is described as a 29-year-old black male, 6’1” and 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown dreadlocks.

Boyd is believed to be a resident of Brunswick County with addresses in both Freeman and Lawrenceville.

Sheriff Brian Roberts said if you see Boyd, do not attempt to engage. Instead, contact Brunswick County Crime Solvers at (434) 848-2336, or call 911 or the Brunswick County Sheriff’s office at (434) 848-3133.
