Morning mess with wood products everywhere

South Boston News

A cargo truck leaving Huber Industries en route to New York overturned on Clays Mill Road on Wednesday morning shortly after 7 a.m., scattering OSB products in the roadway and in a nearby field. Terrance McDonald of Wixom, Mich., was charged with failure to keep his vehicle under control after the 2016 Freightliner ran off the roadway in a curve, struck a ditch and overturned. McDonald was shaken up but did not require medical transport. The rig, valued at $50,000, was a complete loss. Assisting with cleanup and traffic control were Bethel Road VDOT and the Halifax Volunteer Fire Department. The road was reopened at 10:09 a.m. Senior Trooper Leo Pambid investigated the crash. / October 10, 2019
