Nathalie man killed in Pittsylvania crash / July 03, 2019

A Nathalie man driving on Rt. 40 in Pittsylvania County has died in an head on collision with another driver. Edwin Samuel Wilson, 67, who was driving a 2008 Mini Cooper, veered across the center line on Rt. 40 and smashed into a 2003 Cadillac Escalade. Wilson was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

Virginia State Police have no information on the other driver, whether or not there were passengers involved, or whether speed, alcohol, or narcotics were involved in the sudden swerve and collision.

The crash took place at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, while Wilson was driving on Rt. 40 about one tenth of a mile west of route 360 in Pittsylvania County.

Virginia State Police Sgt. T.W. Eastridge is investigating the crash. As of Wednesday, the investigation was ongoing.

The status of the other driver is unknown at this time.
