SoVaNow.com / April 30, 2014
Red Oak Excavating is hosting the annual Day of Prayer this Thursday, May 1 at its office on Highway 15 North in Red Oak.

The program starts at 6:15 a.m. with breakfast, followed by an ecumenical service officiated by pastors from several local churches.

The serves start at 7:00 a.m. Music will be provided by the Randolph Henry High School chorus, Alex Haskin, and Hebron’s Little Voices. American Legion Post 260 is serving as Honor Guard for the program.

The breakfast and services are free and open to the general public. Donations will be accepted to help defray the costs of this event.

This is the third year that Red Oak Excavating has sponsored this service in honor of the National Day of Prayer.

National Day of Prayer is marked annually on the first day of May, when, according to the United States Congress, people throughout the country are asked “to return to God in prayer and meditation.”
