No sign of missing Charlotte County man

South Boston News
Clayton / July 26, 2017

Local police are searching for a 33-year-old Charlotte County man last seen a week ago in Chase City.

Nicholas Dale Clayton, who lives on Jeb Stuart Highway in Charlotte County, was spotted in town around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18. He has been missing ever since.

Clayton is described as about 6 feet tall with brown hair and green eyes, and weighing around 220 pounds. There are scars on his right thumb and the back of his hand.

According to family members, he was last seen wearing a gray shirt and reddish steel-toe leather work boots. He needs medication, according to his family.

Investigators with the Charlotte County’s Sheriff’s Office say they are actively working the case, along with members of the Chase City Police Department, but as of press time Tuesday no leads had emerged as to Clayton’s whereabouts.

A message posted on social media over the weekend by the Chase City Police said Clayton’s “family members and kids are worried about him.”

If you see Clayton or have any information about him, please call the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office at 434-542-5141 or Chase City Police at 434-372-4244.
