PATHS to hold ribbon-cutting event at new South Boston location

Piedmont Access to Health Services will hold its ribbon cutting Wednesday at 11 a.m. at its new Seymour Drive community Health Center.

The South Boston clinic is the fifth location for PATHS, along with their Chatham, Danville, Martinsville and Boydton health centers.

South Boston medical providers include the husband-and-wife physician team of Broderick and Samantha King and family nurse practitioner Karen Hill.

The South Boston facility is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center, which means it serves an underserved area or population. As part of the Community Health Center program, PATHS offers a sliding fee scale for patients who are not covered by Medicaid or who have no health insurance and cannot afford out-of-pocket care. PATHS offices accept all types of insurance — private individual and employer-based, Medicare and Medicaid and FAMIS children’s health insurance.

Along with the ribbon cutting, PATHS will provide light refreshments. The health center is located at 1627 Seymour Drive.
