Celebrating February as Career and Technical Education Month, Halifax County Public Schools will host its annual CTE Showcase in the Halifax County High School gym on Thursday, from 10-11:30 a.m. The CTE Showcase features the 16 career clusters and pathways designated by the state Department of Education; in Halifax County, these are grouped into six areas of career study, including and culinary arts . “I took the Culinary Arts class because I wanted to learn how to cook my own meals,” says Jalen Chism. “I have learned how to hold a knife, cut properly, all about storage temperatures, and how to cook. It is an educational class, but we have fun too.” / February 12, 2018
