Pedestrian in Clover fatality identified / October 10, 2019

The pedestrian who died in a Friday night mishap in Clover has been identified as Josh B. Mitchell, 73, of Randolph. He was lying in the roadway when he was struck by a passing vehicle, according to Virginia State Police spokesperson Corinne Geller.

The driver, a 60-year-old woman from Gladys, has not been identified by State Police. She was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu when the incident occurred at 7:50 p.m. Friday, on Clover Road less than a mile south of Cosby Road.

The operator of the Malibu drove away from the scene after striking the pedestrian, but returned a short time later and was questioned by State Police.

Charges are pending in the incident, which remains under investigation.

If the guy was laying in the road and she had to go call someone she should not be charged unless she was DU!


A person lying in the road at night is not a pedestrian.
