Police chase down, arrest suspect in malicious wounding, thefts / February 25, 2021
South Boston Police on Monday arrested Quinn Tucker, 34, after the suspect was spotted near Bojangles on Old Halifax Road. SBPD officers saw Tucker in the area and apprehended him after a short foot pursuit.

Tucker, a fugitive from justice following a recent failure to appear in court, was found with merchandise that appeared to have been stolen from WalMart, according to police. Officers have determined the items were indeed taken from Wal-Mart.

Tucker was served with two capias warrants issued by Halifax County Circuit Court, one for violating pre-trial conditions and one for a probation violation. A warrant was also served against him for malicious wounding, and he was charged with petty larceny in connection with the items from WalMart.

Tucker is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond and is awaiting trial.

The South Boston Police Department expressed its thanks to citizens who called with tips on Tucker’s whereabouts over the last several days as well as the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia Department of Corrections for their assistance in apprehending the suspect.
