Police probe bomb threat at South Boston industry / January 14, 2021
Authorities were called out to a South Boston industry on Monday morning to respond to a potential bomb threat. An extensive search turned up no explosives or suspicious items, but police are continuing to investigate.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Integrated Textile Solutions (ITS) on Parker Avenue in South Boston received a call of a bomb threat. Officers from the South Boston Police Department as well as deputies from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police responded. Virginia State Police responded with two Troopers as well as two explosive sniffing K-9 dogs.

Management on site evacuated personnel while the building was checked and cleared. Law enforcement officers were on the scene for approximately two hours while the building was thoroughly searched. The search turned up no indication of a bomb.

During this time, traffic was restricted on Parker Avenue and Houghton Boulevard as a safety precaution.

There are currently no suspects, and authorities are asking anyone with any information regarding this crime to call the South Boston Police Department at 434-575-7273.
