Prizery summer cast needs homes / March 31, 2011
Tomorrow’s stars are looking for a few good bed-and-baths this summer.

The Prizery’s Summer Theatre cast and crew need housing, said Chris Jones, who, like last year, is in charge of the season. They don’t need meals or laundry or financial aid – just a bed, a bathroom and (if possible) kitchen privileges for about eight weeks.

“For the majority of people, it was a really fun experience” in 2010, said Jones. The performers’ families came to visit (not at the residence, of course) and often the hosts kept in touch with their guests after summer ended.

Boo Evans of Halifax hosted two young women last summer – one of whom will be back with her this summer – and said she treasures the experience.

“It really made my summer a lot more fun and enjoyable,” said Evans.

The young people typically aren’t home much – the grueling practice and performance schedule keeps them out, sometimes late.
