quiet cover of winter

South Boston News
Snow covered tree limbs and ground as a winter storm blanketed the community Tuesday afternoon and evening. By nightfall there was a mix of ice and snow on the ground from the heavy flurries. Roads were mostly clear on Wednesday although there were some slick spots, especially on shaded roads and bridges. Temperatures remained below freezing and dropped to single digits overnight. Motorists are warned of re-freezing conditions on Thursday night. Schools closed all day Tuesday and Wednesday and will remain closed on Thursday. (David Conner II photo)
