Saunders leaving Halifax emergency position job / May 29, 2014
Halifax County Emergency Services Coordinator Kirby Saunders announced this week that he is leaving his post effective June 30. He will move on to the position of Emergency Management Coordinator for Orange County, N.C.

Saunders has served Halifax County for the past four years, building a team and operations center to take over when disaster strikes. He has responded to a number of major events during his tenure here including calls to fatal house fires, as well as tornados and flooding conditions.

Saunders says he leaves Halifax County believing that Emergency Services has built a strong foundation of teamwork involving not only rescue personnel, but law enforcement officers as well.
