South Boston Council goes into session / September 11, 2017
South Boston Town Council meets this evening at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers on Yancey Street for its monthly session with one public hearing on its agenda.

Verlyn Emswiler is asking the town to approved a special use permit which will allow for an auction gallery to be housed on property at 720 Wilborn Avenue near Edmondson Cleaners. The Town’s Planning Commission is recommending approval of Emswiler’s request.

In other business this evening Council will discuss seeking a local emergency management program grant which will allow for the purchase of a weather monitoring system. Council will also consider discussion of general obligation bond financing during which a public hearing has been set for Council’s Sept. 25 work session.
