South Boston, Halifax councils meet this week / February 10, 2020

Town councils in South Boston and Halifax will meet this week, with South Boston Council going first with a 7 p.m. session tonight.

The South Boston Town Council meeting agenda is a short one, with project updates by Town Manager Tom Raab on stormwater drain projects and street paving work.

Council will consider the reappointment of Allan Smith to a new five-year term on the Board of Zoning Appeals.

Halifax Town Council will follow with a Tuesday night committee work session at 6:30 p.m. and regular monthly Council meeting at 7 p.m.

Among other items up for discussion are the Town’s annual financial audit, upcoming budget schedule and streetscape improvements in the downtown area.

Both meetings are open to the public. South Boston Town Council meets Feb. 10 in Council Chambers on Yancey Street and Halifax Town Council meets Feb. 11 at Town Hall.
