South Boston police issue several citations

South Boston police issued several citations over the weekend, including a charge yesterday of driving under the influence against Jason M. Smith, 26, of Nathalie. Officer F.A. Powell made the arrest.

Powell also charged 28 year old Bryan K. Powell of Nathalie with driving on a suspended license. The alleged offense took place on Saturday, Feb. 23.

In another arrest made by Powell, a citation was issued to 32 year old Bobby W. Clay of South Boston for a first time offense of driving on a suspended license on Feb. 23.

On Saturday, Powell also charged 22 year old Kelvin I. Boyd of Java with trespassing at Westside Village Apartments. Boyd’s bond was set at $2,500, unsecured.

Police Officer J. J. George arrested 45 year old Berry K. Hughes of Virgilina on Saturday, charging him with DUI .

Also, Officer C. Mann arrested 34 year old Antonio M. Jones of South Boston and charged him with a third offense of driving on a suspended license.
