South Hill Christmas Parade pushed back to Dec. 15
SoVaNow.com / December 04, 2013The Board of Directors of the South Hill Chamber of Commerce voted today to reschedule the town’s Christmas Parade to next Sunday, December 15 at 6:00 p.m.
The event had been slated for this Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m., but the Chamber decided to push back the date in anticipation of cold and rainy weather.
The forecast is calling for rain and possibly ice Sunday afternoon with temperatures in the upper 30s.
The line-up on the rescheduled Dec. 15 parade date will be held from 5-6 p.m. on West Danville Street.
“The forecast for this Sunday looks very bad and we are trying to have a parade with lots of folks here to enjoy it,” stated Chamber Executive Director Frank Malone.
The South Hill Christmas Parade is one of two holiday parades slotted for this Sunday, Dec. 8. The Town of Chase City also is scheduled to hold its Christmas Parade starting at 6 p.m. There was no word today on whether Chase City would go forward with its parade this Sunday or reschedule.
