SoVaNow.com / June 09, 2010
The South Hill Department of Motor Vehicles Customer Service Center at 206 South Brunswick Avenue will be closed the morning of Friday, June 18 until 1 p.m. for technology upgrades. When offices are closed, customers may continue to conduct DMV business through http://www.dmvNOW.com, DMV’s automated telephone service at 1-888-337-4782 or the mail.

South Hill-area customers who wish to complete DMV transactions in person before 1 p.m. on June 18 may visit the Emporia DMV office at 103 Commonwealth Boulevard or the South Boston Customer Service Center at 2039 Hamilton Boulevard.

The South Hill DMV office will reopen at 1 p.m. on June 18 using a new, “take-a-number” customer queuing system called Q-flow.

DMV’s 12-year-old queuing system is being replaced by the next generation of technology at each DMV office from now through the end of June. The new queuing system will improve DMV’s efficiency and effectiveness in providing better customer service.
