South Hill woman dies in Lunenburg County crash / November 13, 2019

A South Hill woman died Saturday morning after she was thrown from her car during a single-vehicle crash in Lunenburg County.

According to the Virginia State Police, Janie B. Ali, 80, of South Hill was traveling on Route 138 (South Hill Road) near the intersection with Highway 660 (Forest Drive) around 10:40 a.m. when her car veered off to the right side of the highway, struck a ditch and overturned. Ali, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

She was driving a 2010 Honda CRV.

An investigation of the fatal crash by State Trooper J. Davis is ongoing.
