Spend Halloween with the undead
SoVaNow.com / October 28, 2013Forget the ghosts and vampires and spend Halloween with the undead! On Oct. 31, Digital Art & Design graduate Lewis Guthrie’s remake of the classic horror movie, Night of the Living Dead, will be shown at the SVHEC-Innovation Center in downtown South Boston.
The film will be shown at 4 p.m. and again at 8 p.m. in the Innovation Center’s 80-seat conference center. The film is rated R for violence and some language, and is intended for mature audiences only.
“We at DCC are very impressed with Lewis Guthrie’s film,” said Dr. Chris Ezell, vice president for academic and student services. “Lewis’s work demonstrates the high quality results from the students in the Digital Art and Design program which is a partnership between the SVHEC and DCC. I am sure that this film is just the beginning of a notable career for Lewis; we look forward to more films from this very talented student,” Ezell continued.
Admission is $5 per person, and popcorn and sodas will be on sale for $1 each.
All proceeds will go to the Children’s Miracle Network, to support their goal of creating a pediatric pod in the Emergency Department of Lynchburg General Hospital. 276
