Spot road repairs under way in Halifax

SoVaNow.com / March 18, 2013
Starting this morning, March 18, local highway maintenance crews will be performing spot repairs in Halifax along South Main Street from the intersection of Mountain Road (State Route 360) to the railroad tracks.

Motorists should be alert to VDOT road crew workers directing traffic on South Main Street as necessary.

Also, at times some on-street parking areas may be blocked off. Motorists, business owners, customers, pedestrians and individuals attending court services traveling in this general area should exercise caution at all times when VDOT crews are working.

Within the next several weeks, VDOT will be performing surface improvements along the U.S. Highway 501 corridor from the railroad tracks in Halifax to the intersection of Bethel Road. This work will involve latex application, milling and repaving in certain sections of the roadway, which from time to time will require traffic control and curbs on on-street parking.

A more specific work schedule will be made public in upcoming days.
