Supervisors, councils meet tonight

Halifax County Supervisors and members of the town councils of South Boston and Halifax will meet in joint session Monday beginning at 6 p.m. in the second floor meeting room of the Mary Bethune Complex.

Tim Vest of Staunton River State Parks is expected to make a presentation about the activities on-going in the parks and another presentation will be made recognizing the scenic river designation for the Banister River.

A third presentation is expected to be made by Bee Edmunds Espy who is the chairperson of the County Library Board, which last week was asked to consider applying for regional status for the local libraries.

Following any other business that needs to come before the three governing bodies, Supervisor will reconvene to approve a resolution for the irrevocable election not to participate in the Virginia Local Disability Program.
