Suspect tied to Carter bank robbery

A suspect arrested in Bath County this week is believed to be the culprit in the July 20 bank robbery that took place at the Carter Bank & Trust branch on Main Street.
The unnamed suspect was arrested by the Bath County Sheriff’s Office following an incident that occurred in that jurisdiction.
South Boston Police Detective C.L. Carswell, who is heading the bank robbery investigation, plans on formally charging the suspect with the robbery of the Carter Bank & Trust in South Boston at the next grand jury session scheduled for September 12, 2013.
The name of the suspect is not being released at this time.
