Three held on drug charges / January 10, 2019
Members of the Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotic and Gang Task Force arrested three subjects on drug charges following a Jan. 3 traffic stop by Virginia State Trooper Robb Abbott.

Arrested on outstanding warrants are 42-year-old Amy Edmonds of Wylliesburg, 29-year-old Laura Moody of Halifax, and 32-year-old David Matthew Owen of South Boston, who were each charged with possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance.

A search led to the discovery and seizure of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia on one of the females.

All three subjects were transported to Halifax County Adult Detention Center.

Sheriff Fred Clark stated additional charges are forthcoming and that the investigation is continuing.

The Task Force is comprised from the Virginia State Police, South Boston Police Department and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
