Tickets now on sale for Lope Festival at Berry Hill June 7

As the cravings for big, juicy slices of cantaloupe near, so does the 33rd Annual Virginia Cantaloupe Festival.

The 33rd annual Virginia Cantaloupe Festival will be held on Friday, June 7 from 5-10 p.m. Tickets Festival go on sale today, April 1 and can be picked up at a number of places through the Southside area.

Ticket outlets in the South Boston area include the Halifax County/South Boston Visitors Center located at 1180 Bill Tuck Highway and the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce office located at 515 Broad Street.

Also, tickets can be purchased in the Danville area at the WAKG studio office located at 710 Grove Street.

In addition, cantaloupe festival tickets can be purchased online from the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce at http://www.valopefest.com.

According to Virginia Cantaloupe Festival committee member Kimley Blanks they are expecting a quick sell-out on this year’s tickets.

“The anticipation for the 33rd Annual Virginia Cantaloupe Festival is higher than I have ever seen it. I believe a lot of it has to do with the limited number of tickets and the change in venue,” said Blanks.

The Festival will be held on the grounds of the historic Berry Hill Resort and Conference Center located in South Boston.

In addition to an extensive menu of foods and beverages, entertainment also is included in the evening’s festivities.

Local favorites The Konnection Band and 6th N Main will help to keep festival goers grooving throughout the night.

Tickets for the 33rd Annual Virginia Cantaloupe Festival are priced to move at $35 each and are all inclusive.

Don’t forget to buy your tickets online between April 1-30 to be entered to win a hotel room at Berry Hill Resort the night of the festival. The drawing will be held May 1 with the winner announced that day.
