News ‘Trick or Treat Safely on the Avenue’ in the worksSoVaNow.com / October 07, 2020
Trick or Treat Safely on the Avenue will be held Friday, Oct. 30 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in downtown Clarksville. Clarksville merchants and the Clarksville Lake Country Chamber of Commerce are working on ways to make this a fun and safe outdoor event for the entire family. Clarksville businesses or organizations will be set up outside to distribute Halloween treats to children as they trick or treat along Virginia Avenue. Downtown will be closed off from Second to Eighth Streets to accommodate socially distanced participants. Seven downtown blocks and two sides of Virginia Avenue will be set aside for the Halloween festivities. The Chamber of Commerce is giving each participating business up to four large foam pumpkins for decorating or to use as markers for trick or treaters to stand in line if there is a wait. The Chamber will hold a contest for the best design/idea for the use of the foam pumpkins. For more details, contact the Clarksville Lake Country Chamber of Commerce at 434-374-2436.
