Trustees meet tonight / April 12, 2010
The Halifax County School Board will meet Monday for their regular monthly session in the second floor meeting room of the Mary Bethune Complex, will recognize winners of several competitions.

Division art winners in the Virginia School Board Association’s Southern Regional Forum art contest will be recognized by school Board Chairman Walter Potts and School Superintendent Paul Stapleton. Director of Instruction Joe Griles will recognize members of the high school’s one act play team and also winners in the high school’s Poetry Out Loud competition.

And Transportation Director Dave Guill will introduce the winners of the Region VIII School Bus Road-E-O competition.

In reports to the board Terry McGhee will discuss the new security system which is being placed at the high school, and under new business, trustees Joe Gasperini and Fay Satterfield will discuss the possibility of undertaking an efficiency study of the local school system’s operations. Several members of the Board of Supervisors have asked that such a study be considered, especially in light of recent state funding cuts which have been made to the schools.
